The Laureate-Picture Lock Now What?

Hello everyone

We have pictured locked on The Laureate and now the technical processes of getting the film ready for delivery begins in earnest.  Visual effects work, sound design and music is now next on the agenda followed by grading (colour correction) and final soundmix.

It has been a long road but getting closer to the end.  Whilst we work on the completion of the picture the other tedious task of marketing and promotion begins in earnest.  We want to be able to create and build anticipation for the film ahead of time and it is something that can not be left too late.  To that end the great Metro Team and created the first official poster for the film which is seen here. It has been posted to our various online social media platforms, and the response has been positive. Until next time stay safe everyone.

This may be the longest gap between posts in blogging history but I have completed filming of The Laureate after so many stops and starts. I am grateful to the crew for working on this shoot and delivering a great looking film with a budget of 2 million dollars and 22 shooting schedule. My cast of Dianna Agron, Tom Hughes, Laura Haddock, Fra Fee, Julian Glover, and Patricia Hodge were incredible and they gave it her all.

We completed shooting the film right under the gun of suspension due to the Covid-19 lockdown. I am editing the film remotely in New York and have completed my first director's cut.  Editing is the fun part of the process as one gets to shape the story, find different things you missed on set or didn't even write about. Then we can add bits of script through ADR and VFX to enhance scenes. It will be an interesting few weeks and will be interesting to see how it all shapes out. More importantly I hope I can make it back into the UK this summer for the grading and sound mixing of the film.  Here is an image from the film behind the scenes.
